Cookie Policy

Last updated: June 2026

1. About

This Cookie Policy and the related preferences explain how cookies and similar technologies are used by Pharoll, and how users can apply their preferences. These technologies help improve platform performance and user experience by making responses more efficient and reducing repeated entry of the same information.

Cookies are small data files, normally used on devices that access websites and digital services, containing an alphanumeric string that can uniquely identify a device, among other information.

Most browsers allow users to prevent cookies from being accepted in whole or in part, receive notifications when a new cookie is received, or disable cookies entirely. If all cookies are disabled in the browser, Pharoll may not be able to use the cookies listed below and platform performance may be affected.

When a user refuses certain cookies, those preferences may be recorded through a cookie on the device. For these preferences to take effect, the browser must be configured to accept cookies. If cookies are deleted, cleared or the browser is changed, cookie preferences must be reset.

This policy applies whenever cookies or similar technologies are used on the platform website, web application, mobile application, public information pages, contact pages, account creation and authentication pages, and related subdomains, landing pages and digital interfaces connected to Pharoll operations, where applicable.

2. Legal framework

This policy forms part of Pharoll's Privacy Policy. The legal basis and reasoning applied to personal data protection should also be considered applicable to cookies or similar technologies that involve personal data processing.

Under applicable Portuguese and European law, storing information or accessing information stored on a user's terminal equipment only occurs after the user has been provided with clear and complete information, including the purposes of processing. The user will also be given the right to refuse processing.

3. Current use and third parties

At the current implementation stage, Pharoll's public website and web application may use Google Analytics 4 through the Firebase SDK, with measurement ID G-M0FYXRJERE, only after explicit analytics consent. Advertising storage and personalisation remain disabled. Pharoll uses local storage to save theme and language preferences, and technical resources from third parties including Google tools and Firebase infrastructure.

Pharoll does not currently load Google Tag Manager, Meta Pixel, Hotjar, Microsoft Clarity, PostHog, Mixpanel, Amplitude, Intercom, Zendesk, Sentry, Datadog or New Relic. The application uses local storage, cookies or equivalent mechanisms for authentication metadata, preferences, user-interface state, filters and functional configuration. The analytics preference is stored in a strictly necessary cookie in order to respect the user's choice.

Pharoll uses Google OAuth when the user chooses to sign in with a Google account. It also uses Stripe-hosted flows for checkout, billing, payout account onboarding and payment account status checks.

These third-party providers may use cookies and process information under their own terms, conditions and cookie policies.

4. Scope and cookies used

This policy applies to cookies used on the Pharoll platform, whether on the web version at www.pharoll.com, the web application, a mobile version, the institutional website, or public information, contact, registration and authentication pages.

The following cookies may be used in the digital spaces described above:

  • Essential cookies - Cookies that are indispensable and strictly necessary for providing Pharoll services. They support access to private website areas and enable services. They may be used to identify users, manage and operate Pharoll activity, protect against fraud, comply with applicable law, and fully apply the Terms and Conditions. Because they are necessary, users cannot opt out of them.
  • Functional cookies - Cookies that record user choices and improve the user experience. They may record language choice, interface preferences, certain settings between sessions, recurring navigation and personalisation.
  • Performance cookies - Cookies needed to monitor website experience and improve the Pharoll experience. They help remember user preferences and may collect information such as popular pages or features, conversion rates, viewing patterns, click sequences and other service-use information that allows Pharoll to analyse and improve its services.
  • Security and fraud-prevention cookies - Given Pharoll's activity and its handling of registered accounts, metrics, operational activity and features linked to campaigns and monetisation, the platform may use cookies to detect suspicious activity, identify abnormal access or usage patterns, prevent improper automation, technical abuse and invalid traffic, strengthen session integrity, support activity validation and account security, and protect users, systems and operational metrics.
  • Marketing and advertising measurement cookies - Where applicable, Pharoll may use cookies to measure campaign effectiveness, personalise promotional content, limit repeated messages, analyse traffic sources and conversions, support promotional or commercial communications, and measure the impact of campaigns and initiatives. These cookies are used only where permitted by applicable law, including through the user's explicit consent where required.
  • Third-party authentication and payment cookies - When users sign in through Google, authentication is managed by Google services. Google may process cookies, account identifiers, OAuth authorisation codes, email addresses, profile information and security signals under its own policies. When users interact with Stripe-hosted checkout, billing, payout onboarding or payment account status flows, Stripe may use its own cookies and similar technologies for payment processing, fraud prevention, authentication, regulatory compliance and service security.
  • Social networks - Possible interaction with social networks including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, WhatsApp, X, LinkedIn, Reddit, Twitch and Discord.

Information extracted through the use of cookies may be shared with third-party service providers to analyse patterns and track navigation and performance, without directly identifying a natural or legal person.

The cookies listed above may involve processing the following categories of information: IP address, session identifiers, authentication status, account identifiers where a user is signed in, device type and model, operating system, browser type and version, language and display preferences, pages visited, time spent and page interactions, traffic source, approximate location inferred from IP address, technical records and performance data, and signals relating to security, fraud prevention and invalid-traffic detection.

Under the rationale of applicable European and Portuguese law, including Regulation (EU) 2016/679 and Law no. 41/2004, processing location-related cookie data is permitted only to the extent and for the time necessary to provide services or comply with contractual, legal or administrative requirements. It may also be retained while legitimate expectations justify it, provided the user's rights and freedoms do not override those interests.

5. Consent management and preferences

Where applicable, Pharoll will provide mechanisms to manage cookies and privacy preferences, including options for analytics, functional, marketing and data-sharing preferences.

Although users may control and limit cookie storage and use through their browser, restricting certain technologies may affect account access, account security, session refresh, preferences, checkout, access through Google, Stripe interactions or resources from other partner platforms.

6. Changes to this policy

Pharoll reserves the right to make changes, corrections or updates to this policy and to inform users and partners in writing.
